I teach children from age 6 upwards, as well as teenagers and adults who wish to learn either musical theatre or classical singing. It’s never too late to start singing!

Musical theatre and classical singing.

Absolutely! While I’m a big advocate of singing for enjoyment, students also have the option to pursue ABRSM singing exams if they wish. I teach both ABRSM syllabuses: ABRSM Singing and ABRSM Singing for Musical Theatre. Students can choose between submitting a recorded performance or attending an in-person exam, allowing them to progress in the way that suits them best.
I'm proud to say that over 90% of my students who have taken graded exams have achieved either a Merit or Distinction. However, every student's vocal journey is different, and I believe exams should be taken when the timing is right for the individual. Particularly during the teenage years, voices can develop at very different rates, and sometimes an exam can be a valuable stepping stone even when a voice is still maturing. In these cases, the experience and feedback gained can be just as important as the result itself. My approach is always to support each student's long-term vocal development, confidence and enjoyment of singing.
